Pride of Davenham Awards

The Pride of Davenham awards have been set up to celebrate, thank and honour those who are going above and beyond to make a big difference in our community. We are aware that there have been many acts of kindness and generosity demonstrated by individuals and groups particularly during the last two difficult and challenging years of the pandemic.

It was therefore fitting that, to launch the awards, we asked you to nominate someone for our very special Jubilee Award. It was our great pleasure to present this special award with Edward Timpson MP at our Platinum Event on Saturday 4th June 2022 to a very well deserving and popular winner - Dave Bibby, Scout Leader. Many congratulations and thank you to everyone who took the time to send in a nomination.

Thank you for all nominations received for our full Pride of Davenham awards; a fantastic night was had by all celebrating all nominees at the Davenham Royal British Legion Social Club in November 2022. Thank you to everyone who made it possible and we can't wait to hear your nominations in 2023.

Davenham Village Resilience Plan

In liaison with Cheshire West & Chester (CW&C), Davenham Parish Council have produced a Community Resilience Plan. The Plan holds data that allows potential assistance, of all kinds, to be rendered in the event of a serious or emergency incident in the village (e.g. tradesman, temporary building / accomodation provision etc.).

Thank you to all those who have contributed in pullting togerther the Plan. The Plan in no way attempts to take the place of the responsibilities or roles of designated bodies or first responders but will increase short term community resilience should the need arise.

Dog Fouling

Dog fouling is an on-going problem in the village as in most places. Not only is it extremely unpleasant and unnecessary, but it also presents a significant health risk in particular to young children.

We do recognise and thank the majority of dog owners who are responsible but are let down by a small minority who fail to take responsibility. We politely request that the bins all around the village including Laburnum Road and Butchers Stile are used for waste bags or otherwise taken home.

As part of the Cheshire West and Chester dog ownership campaign, to report dog fouling, please ring 0300 123 8 123 or report online: Dog and Animal Fouling.

Cadent - HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline

Please find below import information following attendance at a consultation session at St Stephens Church in Moulton on 19th October 2022 by Cllrs Powell and Spare.

Project Timeline:

·  January to March 2022 - Non statutory consultation

·  Autumn 2022 - Statutory Consultation

·  DEADLINE FOR FEEDBACK 10th November 2022

·  Spring 2023 - Development Consent Order

·  Summer/Autumn 2024- Secretary of State decision point

·  2025- 2027 Construction phase

·  2027 - Commissioning phase before pipeline becomes operational

Of particular interest to residents of the village are the plans for the South Corridor pipeline:- in particular Schemes SP1 SP2 & SP3 (Construction phase 2025 to 2027). Access would be required for construction, commercial and ongoing maintenance vehicles along Eaton Lane residential and through Eaton Lane farm track to the Liverpool/ Euston railway bridge. Access to Eaton Lane would be via Hartford Road.

Our feedback re. Hartford Road and Eaton Lane:

- neither could withstand increased traffic from heavy HGV and commercial vehicles

- vehicle vibration, vehicle emissions pollution, and mud from vehicle tyres from would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of residents and properties

- increased congestion could potentially  hamper emergency services access

- anticipate 6 - 8 week impact during the heaviest period of the construction phase
